It is officially the ‘FIFA World Cup’ season, and the spirit of football has also reached the F1 paddock where the 2022 World Championship has recently ended. Of course, it is a well-known fact that F1 is dominated by European racers and football is en vogue in Europe, thus many of the Formula 1 drivers follow the game religiously. And Carlos Sainz deserves some special mention in this aspect as the Spaniard has claimed time and time again that he loves to watch football, and he is a Real Madrid fan at heart.

With Spain charging against Costa Rica in their first group league match in the 2022 FIFA world cup, Carlos Sainz undoubtedly got his eyes glued to the television watching his native country battle for some goals to their name. And keeping Sainz company while he watched the match, it was none other than a very sleepy Charles Leclerc, his teammate at Scuderia Ferrari. The Monegasque is quite evidently not too much into football, and thus he dozed off while watching the game right beside Carlos Sainz.

A self-proclaimed Madridista, Carlos Sainz, loves watching football, and he even claimed in one of his interviews that he indulges in the game himself at times, while he is away from the F1 paddocks. Thus, he started watching the match between his country’s team and Costa Rica alongwith his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc. But midway through the game, Leclerc fell asleep, and Sainz took his video and showed the world what it is like to watch FIFA with a non-football-lover.
