WATCH: Max Verstappen starts singing nostalgic song from his childhood as it is played on the Red Bull team radio at Brazilian GP
Max Verstappen recently won the Brazilian GP and broke out into a song from his childhood karting days to celebrate the victory.

The Brazilian Grand Prix saw the drama shoot off even before the lights went out for the race to start. As Charles Leclerc was making his way to the front row of the grid during the formation lap, he lost control of his Ferrari SF-23 as it ran into the barriers at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace. It ruined the entire day for the Monegasque as he had to pull out from the race with a dreaded DNS. Later, he announced that he had encountered from hydraulic problems with the car which resulted in his unfortunate accident and subsequent withdrawal before even starting the race in Sao Paulo. But one racer who delivered a record-breaking performance at the same event was Red Bull Champ Max Verstappen.
Max had displayed some strong pace in his RB-19 throughout the Sprint weekend in Brazil. He was the undisputed pole-sitter on Friday as well as the Sprint Race winner on Saturday. And when he finished at the top during the Main Race in Sao Paulo, he became the only F1 racer to have more than 75% Grand Prix winning percentage in a single season. He broke the record of Albert Ascari who had previously won 6 out of the 8 races in the 1952 season.
When Max crossed the finish line and learned that he has indeed won the prestigious Brazilian GP, his Red Bull team radio started belting out a mysterious tune. Soon, Max Verstappen realized that it was a song that his father used to sing on their way home after participating in kart races all over Europe in his childhood. Moved to hear the song again, Max wanted to sing along but was a bit shy.
I'm not a good singer, I like to listen to it.
But then he did start his own team radio karaoke as he celebrated his massive Brazil GP win by singing a song from his childhood days when he was just a karting driver.
Max Verstappen has firm belief Sergio Perez would not need his help in 2023
The 2023 season is coming to a close as there are only two races remaining in the roster. And while Max Verstappen has already been crowned the Champion for this year, the second place in the Drivers’ Standings is still up for grabs. Max’s own teammate Sergio Perez is now sitting at P2 in the Championship rankings but his gap to Mercedes racer Lewis Hamilton is only 30 points wide.
Now that Max’s position in the Championship is already secure, fans expect him to assist Checo in the battle to defend his second place against Lewis Hamilton. But Max Verstappen has said that he believes the Mexican racer does not need his help at all.
At the end of the day I think it shouldn’t matter on me to get the points. But I am confident in Checo that he can stay ahead. On average, we have had the faster car this season.
It must be mentioned here that Sergio Perez was instrumental in Max Verstappen getting his first-ever World Championship. The Mexican had defended valiantly against a charging Lewis Hamilton as Max got enough gap to go to the front of the grid at the 2021 Season Finale in Abu Dhabi.
