After a wretched 2021 season for the American outfit, Haas team boss Guenther Steiner must be overjoyed by the progress that the team has made this season. With the new regulations coming into effect this year, the team interpreted the rules quite well to a point that they were fighting for points every now and then. However, Steiner still believes that there is more room for improvement.

With Kevin Magnussen coming in this year to replace outgoing driver Nikita Mazepin, it has been an amazing season for the Danish driver. The ‘suck my balls’ driver went on to finish the year being placed 13th in the driver standings with a total of 25 points to his name. Apart from that, Kevin also managed to give the team their maiden pole position.

Guenther Steiner has been through many ups and downs with the team. He was the one who convinced Gene Haas who already had a successful Nascar team to establish an American F1 outfit. Having been dead last in 2021, coming in 8 th place in the constructors standings is an amazing achievement for the squad which also means more money for them.

In a conversation with FormulaPassion.it , here is what the Haas big wig had to say about the team’s situation. “We had two difficult years with the pandemic, but recovered,” Steiner states. “The season we just finished went well, but it could have been better. We can look at it as a year of growth.”

He furthermore went on to talk about Kevin Magnussen and his comeback which has benefited the team in many ways. “This year Kevin gave us pole position. In 2023, we want to grow even more, make another jump in the standings, fight for points every race and be on the podium one day. We need big goals to achieve them and grow,” he said.

It has surely been a tough season for the squad but it was much better than the past few years. This might be the rise of the American based F1 team with Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg competing together as teammates next year. Guenther Steiner is surely moving on the right track as he is working day and night to improve the team and fix all their weak spots. It will be interesting to see how the team will far next season.
