French star Karim Benzema is set to join the Saudia Arabia side Al Ittihad. Benzema and Real Madrid parted ways after the club’s final game of the season against Athletic Bilbao.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Karim Benzema has reportedly signed main part of doccuments to become new Al Ittihad player joining the Saudi league. Romano also stated that the contract will be valid until 2025 but will also include option for further season.
Benzema’s move to the Saudi league was being speculated every since the rumors of a mommoth sized contract offer surfaced. Benzema reportedly was offered a €100 million contract offer from Al Ittihad. Although in the past, he flunked any rumors that linked him with a move to Saudi Arabia, but now it seems that the rumors might have been were true all along.
Benzema was a part of Real Madrid for 14 years. He had won 25 trophies with the Spanish giants. This included the five Champions League and four La Liga that the French striker has won over his stint at the club. During his time at Madrid, he also won the Ballon D’or in 2022.
