Iran calls for US to be kicked out of 2022 FIFA World Cup after it changes Iran flag on social media to show support for protesters

Iran and the USA lineup at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ahead of the third round group stage matchup between USA and Iran, a lot of fuss has been created through a social media post. This match will be very pivotal for both sides as this will decide their destiny in the ongoing FIFA World Cup and who will go through. Currently, Iran is placed second with 3 points while USA is in the third position with 2 draws from the two matches they have played so far.
After the second round tie, The USMNT official account updated a post with an image of the Group B table but it didn’t have the Islamic Republic’s “Allah” emblem and the “takbirs” on Iran’s three-colored flag on that table. So, Iran has asked FIFA to ban USA from the FIFA World Cup and not allow the match to happen which will allow both England and Iran to go through to the round of 16 stage.
Iran has accused USA of breaching FIFA rules and they want USA to get kicked out of the FIFA World Cup. One of the country’s state-affiliated media Tasnim News Agency has said that by removing the emblem from their flag USA has broken FIFA regulations and they don’t deserve to carry forward their journey anymore in the tournament.

They also added, “The legal advisor of the Iranian Football Federation says the sports association will file a complaint against the US Soccer Team to FIFAโs Ethics Committee after the US Men’s National Soccer Team disrespected the national flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” After putting up a caption quoting the full wording of section 13 from the FIFA rule book, they demanded a 10-game suspension.
