Iran fans booed and whistled during team’s national anthem as part of solidarity for women’s protest before match against Wales at 2022 FIFA World Cup

Iran national football played their second group match of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup against Wales and the Iran players got the fans really irritated with what they did before the match. Iran players were in the news after their first match against England when they decided not to sing the national anthem as a protest against their country’s unjust rules.

The players were given a lot of praise from the entire world for their intense bravery in their first FIFA World Cup match but today they were criticized and were whistled by their own fans. The players sang the national anthem today at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Doha and loud jeers were heard from Iranian supporters as the anthem played and they even booed their players.

A lot of fans were also wearing the jersey with the name of Mahsa Amini, who was killed by the Iranian policemen and the fans showed their support for anti-government demonstrations which have been running throughout Iran for the past few months. The Iranian authorities in response have taken up huge steps to suppress these protests which have got the whole world talking about it.

How Iran achieved their first win at the 2022 FIFA World Cup?

Iran won their first match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has given its fans something to cheer about. Wales started the match really brilliantly and they were looking really strong in the first half of the match. But as the match gradually went on, Iran held their nerves and matched the tempo of the game.

In the second half, Iran was a completely different team and overpowered themselves and literally made the Wales defender pay for every mistake they made. Rouzbeh Cheshmi opened the scoring for the Iranians in the injury time and then two minutes later another goal came through Ramin Rezaeian giving their fans to dream about the group stage.
