Napoli has set a huge asking price on star striker Victor Osimhen, in hope of keeping him at the club. Napoli lost many key players last summer, including Kalidou Koulibaly, Fabian Ruiz, Lorenzo Insigne, and Dries Mertens.
Insigne and Mertens are third and fourth on the club’s all-time appearances list and second and first on the all-time goal scorers list. Those departures, however, did not deter them, with Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia paving the way to the top of the Serie A table.
They are almost sure to win their first league title since 1990 when Diego Maradona led the team, and they have a strong chance of qualifying for the Champions League. A recent analysis shows they are even frontrunners to reach the final due to their favourable draw. That success has predictably led to speculation about potential summer transfers for their best players, with Nigerian striker Osimhen at the top of the list.
He has been heavily rumoured to be one of Manchester United‘s top targets, but according to reports, the Naples club wants £150 million for the forward and will not even sit down to discuss a deal for anything less. Erik ten Hag’s primary focus for the summer is a striker, as he looks to bring in more goals options than Marcus Rashford.

Osimhen or Kane? Manchester United lost in search for new striker
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is reportedly their top target, with just over a year left on his contract in north London. Despite this, the Premier League club appears unwilling to accept anything less than 100 million pounds, with chairman Daniel Levy preferring to receive it all at once rather than in instalments. Osimhen, who is only 24 years old, may attract United as someone who can score goals for them for a more extended period, having scored 21 goals in 23 league games this season.
Unfortunately for United, the Italian club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is renowned as a tough negotiator. With the ex-Lille striker’s contract not expiring for another two years, he’ll be less eager to sell him, even though Osimhen has acknowledged he wants to play in the Premier League one day. Chelsea is also looking to sign the striker, and Todd Boehly’s recent outlay suggests that the fee will not deter him.
