Lionel Messi breaks most liked photo record on Instagram
Lionel Messi posted photos on his Instagram after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup. That picture has now surpassed the image of an egg, named “the world record egg,” that held the record for the most likes on Instagram.
Following Argentina’s thrilling penalty shootout victory over France, the PSG star uploaded ten photos to Instagram cataloging the festivities in Qatar. Messi’s post has received an astounding 56 million likes since he posted it, and the forward has now built up more than 402 million followers on Instagram.
Chris Godfrey initially set the record for “likes” by uploading a picture of an egg in January 2019. The goal was to exceed the Instagram picture with the most likes at the time, an image of Kylie Jenner’s daughter, which had 18.6 million likes.
The photo ultimately received 56.1 million likes. In October 2021. the most liked image from a sportsperson was of Cristiano Ronaldo received 32.6 million likes on his post announcing the pregnancy of his companion Georgina Rodriguez. Messi’s most liked image featured Ronaldo. It had 32.2 million likes.

Messi’s army quickly targeted Cristiano Ronaldo, pointing out how Lionel Messi also broke his Instagram record. “ Ronaldo couldn’t even win the Instagram d’Or,” “The only legacy Ronaldo had,” said fans via Twitter.
