Real Madrid’s star striker Karim Benzema is reportedly considering a humongous offer from Saudi Arabia. After a below-par season for Los Blancos, the Frenchman’s departure has been of much discussion.

Karim Benzema has been a key player in Real Madrid’s recent golden era. He had multiple memorable performances in the 2021-22 season and won the Ballon d’Or. However, this year has been less spectacular – he failed to make a difference in critical moments, such as the semi-final against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

With a month left on his contract, there is still no concrete news about his renewal. Thus, Saudi Arabia and its professional league have attempted to swoop in. According to the latest information published in the country, Karim Benzema has reportedly received an offer of 200 million euros for two seasons.

It is a spellbinding offer that would result in him earning €100M per season. Additional perks include no taxes and 100% image rights. The Frenchman has also been given the opportunity to choose his team and city, and the deal would make him an ambassador for the 2030 World Cup.

Saudi Arabia continues to look to attract the biggest stars in football. The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo by Al Nassr was the starting point. However, the Saudi Arabian government does not want to stop there and has chased other players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. They are reportedly offering the Argentine $400 million for two seasons.

According to sources, Benzema is respected in Spain, and a renewal is on the cards, but a tempting offer from Saudi Arabia could make him change his shirt. The 35-year-old striker has a contract until June 30 with Real Madrid. Sources say the board intends to extend the Frenchman. However, they are looking for a replacement due to issues with the 35-year-old’s workload.

Real Madrid host Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabeu for the final matchday of La Liga Santander. The match is scheduled to be played on Sunday, 4 June. It will be the last game of the season for Ancelotti’s side after the team failed to progress in the UEFA Champions League. They still have something to play for; however, a positive result would confirm a finish above local rivals Atletico Madrid.
