Paris Saint-Germain star, Neymar Jr elected not to travel to Strasbourg, where a solitary Lionel Messi goal secured a 1-1 draw for the Parisians and confirmed their second successive Ligue 1 title. The Brazilian instead attended the showcase Formula 1 event in Monaco and was pictured alongside Hollywood superstars.

The Brazilian forward, who has been one of PSG’s key players this season with 13 goals and 11 assists, has been sidelined with an injury after twisting his ankle in March. However, despite Christophe Galtier telling reporters the forward’s absence was due to mobility issues, French outlets claimed his decision has not gone down well with the club.

Neymar’s absence from their title celebrations has reportedly been seen as an ‘act of provocation’ by the PSG hierarchy, as his exit this summer appears increasingly likely. The Brazilian has come in for staunch criticism this campaign, with more vocal supporters going as far as to verbally abuse the player outside his own home in France.

Additionally, there are increasing reports of a potential move away from the club, with rumors indicating Neymar could join the Premier League. According to reports, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Manchester United are touted as possible destinations, while Man City coach, Pep Guardiola has reportedly already been in contact with the Brazilian.

However, French outlets continue that such a call does not constitute a concrete move for the forward, whose injury proneness at 31 years old has cast doubts over his suitability to the Premier League more generally. As a result, reports conclude that a sensational transfer to City is highly unlikely, but a move away from PSG cannot be ruled out at this early stage.
