“We’ll see where that leads us,” Manchester United owner Avram Glazer opens up about the decision to sell the club

The Glazer family completed the take of Manchester united in 2005, following a multi-year process, and has been holding the key to the Red Half of Manchester since. The club’s performance has declined on and off the field over the last decade, forcing the second generation of Glazers to consider moving on. The owners have recently shared their interest in selling the club to potential suitors.
Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer, one of the Glazers’ siblings, was on the way to his home in West Palm Beach, Florida. Sky News tracked him down and asked about putting the Red Devils up for sale. This is the first time the Glazers have given a public statement about the possibility of handing over the club ownership.
When he was asked about whether it is the right time to sell Manchester United, he said, “As we announced yesterday, the board decided it’s going to look at different strategic alternatives – we’ll see where that leads us.” When asked again about why wasn’t the club sold earlier and why fans are unhappy with their ownership, he repeated, “We’ll see where that leads us.”
Manchester United Board announced that there are going through a process in order to explore strategic alternatives for the club. “The process is designed to enhance the club’s future growth, with the ultimate goal of positioning the club to capitalize on opportunities both on the pitch and commercially.”
What did Avram say about Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United?
A few days ago, both the club and Ronaldo posted that they have mutually decided to part ways and now Ronaldo will look for a different club after the World Cup at the winter transfer window. Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked a lot of inside news about the club through his explosive interview and this might have led to the Glazers finally putting their club on sale.
When Avram Glazer was asked about this Ronaldo situation, he said, “Well, I’ll tell you about Cristiano Ronaldo – he’s a great Manchester United player, I appreciate everything he’s done for the club and I wish him the best luck in the future.” A lot of candidates will look to buy the club now that the club is on the market with ex-player David Beckham already on the line,”.
