Williams Boss Jost Capito reveals interesting insights ahead of 2022 Formula 1 season start

After the end of 2021, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, fans around the world seem to be stuck at the controversy at the last race of the season and there seems to be no end to this discussion even with the upcoming 2022 car launch and pre-testing. Many former f1 drivers, team principals and other employees have put forward their views on whether or not Sir Lewis Hamilton will return to grab the eight World Champion record, beating Michael Schumacher with whom he is tied at the moment.
Along with various changes in the driver arrangements and retirements towards the end of 2021 season. 2022 brings in immense joy and pleasure to former William’s driver, George Russell who will be driving alongside Lewis Hamilton for this season.

Ahead of the 2022 season, Williams Racing CEO and team principal, Jost Capito said that “I don’t care about it, I really don’t care if he drives or not” said in an interview about Lewis Hamilton’s future with Mercedes and in f1. He said this in view of giving chance to other young drivers as there is not enough place for them in this sport and thinks that someone who has won seven world champions has really done enough and could make room for another.
Jost Capito’s reason for wanting Lewis Hamilton in 2022

According to Jost Capito, it would be bad for Russell if Hamilton does not continue because he wants to see George Russell beat Hamilton in the race and he thinks that George would also not want to miss out on this opportunity.
William’s boss, Jost praises his former driver showing a lot of confidence in him and calling him a partially cut diamond who is no longer a rough diamond with world champion potential. He trusts the 23-year-old, George Russell to drive at eye level with Hamilton in that Mercedes, “Russell is nervously so strong that he develops, grows with the challenge and does not break”.

Jost Capito acknowledges the fact that Russell has the advantage as it isn’t a new team for him and has been a Mercedes driver for years now.

With Max Verstappen rising, Jost Capito has confidence in Russell and is sure that he can fight him. It certainly will be very exciting for the fans to see the dual driver along with the contending champion, Max Verstappen in a three-way battle.
