Turkish Grand Prix Qualifying: Lewis Hamilton Quickest But Valtteri Bottas Takes Pole

Turkish Grand Prix Qualifying saw reigning champion Mercedes to resurrect to take their dominating best. With Lewis Hamilton clocking the fastest time, his grid penalty will ensure that he starts the race on Sunday from the middle sector. However, if not Hamilton, then it is his teammate Valtteri Bottas who took the pole on Saturday in an epic way. 

On the other hand, the problems for Mercedes’ rival Red Bull continued as Max Verstappen fell behind Bottas to ensure he starts the race from the second position. Followed by Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly of AlphaTauri. Bottas was just over a mili-second behind his teammate, which signified the Finn is all set to deliver his best in the business end of the 2021 Formula 1 season.

After the Russian Grand Prix 2021 last weekend, the F1 Drivers’ Championship is tight as ever as championship leader Lewis Hamilton (246.5) and rival Max Verstappen (244.5) are separated by just two points. As for the Constructors’ Championships, Mercedes F1 (397.5) leads Red Bull Racing (364.5) by 33 points.
