US Grand Prix Qualifying: Max Verstappen Claims Pole Position Ahead Of Lewis Hamilton At COTA

The US Grand Prix saw a Red Bull dominance at COTA as both Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen had fantastic outings. Max Verstappen clocked the fastest time as he overthrew rival Lewis Hamilton from the provisional pole in the very last minute. A gap of just six points differentiates the two title contenders as both of them start from the front row on Sunday.

Red Bull have looked very dominating and have the pace to win the race tomorrow while there are problems for Mercedes as Bottas finished fourth but will take a 5-place grid penalty due to yet another engine change. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari had another good qualifying session as he finished fifth fastest followed by his teammate Carlos Sainz.

With pole position on Sunday, Max Verstappen and Red Bull will be looking to extend their lead in the hunt for the the Championship this season while the engineers at Mercedes will be working overnight to figure out a solution.
