“Pay zero attention,” Greg Norman gives scathing response to Tiger Woods

“Pay zero attention,” Greg Norman gives scathing response to Tiger Woods

Greg Norman

Greg Norman has been making the headlines this past week even though he didn’t make any public statements or appeared anywhere. It all was because one of golf’s greatest – Tiger Woods took a shot at the veteran, suggesting that Greg should sever his ties with LIV Golf in order for the PGA Tour to think of working things out.

The cash-rich LIV Golf and the ever-conservative PGA Tour have been at each other’s throats ever since the Saudi-backed outfit emerged on the international stage. A series of lawsuits and counter-lawsuits await their respective future, with neither of them showing any signs of backing down.

Tiger Woods in his latest press conference, discussing his injury and future plans, also discussed – LIV Golf, and what can be done to achieve peace between the two rival circuits. He said – “Greg has to go”, further souring an already tricky relationship between the two golfers.

Greg Norman keeps his conscience free and has full backing from the Saudi management

Greg Norman has clarified in very simple terms, that he has no intention of leaving LIV Golf and vacating his CEO position. Norman has been fully backed by his Saudi counterparts after LIV’s huge success in its first season, even though the market forces were against it. Looks like Greg Norman knows what he’s doing right.

Greg in his recent interview, per Today’s Golfer, said – “I pay zero attention to Mcllroy and Woods, right? They have their agenda for whatever reason. They’re saying whatever they want to say. It has no bearing or effect on me. I’m going to be with LIV for a long, long period of time.” Norman’s statement was in response to Tiger and Rory Mcllroy‘s statements asking him to step down from LIV’s CEO position.

Greg Norman was in no mood to entertain either of the golfer’s suggestions and said that he has “the support of our investors.” Majed Al-Sorour, LIV’s managing director also backed Greg, saying – “Greg Norman is our CEO and commissioner. Any suggestion that changes are being made to Greg’s title or role is patently false.”  Well, whether or not Tiger was a messenger for the PGA Tour or not, it seems likely that LIV Golf and Greg Norman would continue to haunt the PGA Tour in 2023.
