The future surrounding the sport of golf continues to remain in smoke. Following the merger between the two tours – PGA and LIV, new changes are expected to come place soon. The details of this merger were later explained before the US Senate by tour officials Ron Price and Jimmy Dunne. LIV Golf star Phil Mickelson has now slammed the duo and the tour for allegedly lying before them.

The 53-year-old veteran has been no strange to hot takes on social media. The operating duo were present before the Senate in July to explain the terms of the deal to Senator Richard Blumenthal. During the hearing, the officials discussed how the agreement would come into effect if the deal was finally approved. On Monday, July 31, Commentator Bob Bell accused Price of lying under oath.

The commentator would go on to state the financial status of the PGA Tour in 2022-23. After exploring the other revenues, Ball claimed that the tour has $350 million hole in the math. He further went on to state how the PGA Tour was only paying around 35 percent of the revenue whereas the other sporting leagues pay around 50-55 percent.

Mickelson was quick to point this out. “For years their words and the truth have had a huge gap. But to say this under oath to Congress is next level,” the HyFlyers GC captain tweeted out. The LIV Golfer has previously expressed his displeasure over the tour and now has once again taken the opportunity to share his thoughts regarding them.

Phil Mickelson continues to rage war against PGA Tour on social media

The name of Phil Mickelson has been no stranger to hot takes. The six-time major champion is highly active on social media and continues to engage with users and experts. He has also gone on to publicly defend the LIV Golf and went to war with others. This time he did not shy back from taking a dig at Ron Price.

Whether the accusations labeled by Bob Ball on Price and the Tour are correct or not, is something to be established. However, Mickelson wasted no time and shared his thoughts. He was one of the big names in this whole LIV Golf drama. Mickelson’s move to the breakaway league saw him being called a “backstabber” and has received multiple heckles during the majors following the move. Recently he dropped a huge claim regarding the LIV players.

His furious rant over the reports that LIV players will be punished differently has gone viral. The Lefty called this move “a colossal waste of time“. He further went on to state that the so-called “defectors” need a public apology from the PGA Tour to even think of making a comeback at the traditional tour.

What will happen after the agreement gets complete and ready to go is something fans are looking out for. The future of LIV Golf itself is at stake. As per the framework agreement, the top PGA bosses will decide what will happen to the tour. While it might not go away, the 54-hole, no-cut tournament could be restructured into a new competition.
