Tiger Woods got quite sentimental after his Masters triumph in 2019 wondering – “if it would ever happen again”

Tiger Woods is a mesmerizing fellow for all his achievements and stature in the game of Golf. People around him tend to listen in awe whenever he speaks. Something of a similar notion happened when Tiger gave his speech at the dinner table after winning the Masters in 2019 at the Augusta National Golf Club.

The Champions Dinner after the tournament at the pristine Augusta National is something that every golfer looks forward to. It is one of the eternal experiences that every golfer desires where golf legends from different time scopes share the table with each other and it’s even merrier when you have the G.O.A.T of golf give a touching speech.

One has to agree that Woods is no more the player he once was after his personal and professional life went down continuous spirals since 2009. Although Tiger Woods was not the favorite at the Masters in 2019, he still possesses the ability to pull out something special from his bag every now and then, and that’s what he exactly did by winning his first major in more than a decade.

Tiger Woods would forever be the G.O.A.T

Tiger’s form had struggled a lot before this victory in 2019, owing to his continuous battles with injuries. Tiger Woods has been a serial winner all his career but this victory meant a little bit more to him for two reasons – firstly, it was one after ages and all the personal debacles he had to face, and secondly, his kids were now old enough to see their dad lift a trophy and understand its significance.

Bernhard Langer, a PGA Tour player said – “Tiger gave a speech that was very emotional. “He thanked many of us for helping him over the years and he talked about how it was very emotional for him to win here last year because he didn’t know if it would ever happen again”. The German himself is a two-time Masters champion.

“His kids were there in 2019 and he said that giving them a hug when he won reminded him of how Tiger used to give his own parents a hug when he won before. It was a great speech,” – said Langer. Tiger who’s currently out battling injuries and engineering his return would be hoping to replicate his form from his golden years.
