The GOAT Tiger Woods has proved that he cannot be stopped only because of a foot injury. As “The Match” is about to set off, Woods partnering up with World No. 1 Rory McIlory is ready to take on Jordan Speith and Justin Thomas. The long-awaited match will finally begin, but everyone has the same question in their mind.

Will Tiger Woods be able to compete in “The Match” especially after he took a break from competitive golf in July, missing the Hero Challenge to his foot injury? While many have suggested Tiger take a break from golf or retire till his health is back up once again, the GOAT is not ready to bow down yet to some injury.

This fact is further proved as he stated he’ll use the help of a cart to go around to compete against Thomas and Speith in the 12-hole competition at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. Tiger further noted that with the World No. 1 being by his side, he has no reason to fear any injury.

Now, with Tiger Woods ready and set off to compete, Speith can’t hold back his enthusiasm to lock horns with the legendary golfer in “The Match”. Each of the carts that’ll be used has its own custom design to set in the mood. After missing last week’s Hero Challenge to plantar fasciitis, a precaution is being taken just in case.

Though it’ll not be the first time Tiger used a golf cart around. While taking on Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson in the 2020 “The Match”, Tiger and Peyton Manning used golf carts. Tiger has struggled with his health since his 2021 car accident, and in 2022 played only in four tournaments – The Masters, PGA Championship, the JP McManus Pro-Am, and the Open Championship.

Tiger Woods noted, “I can hit golf balls. It’s just hard getting from point A to point B, so [the cart] will certainly help a lot,” said Woods, who is still struggling with plantar fasciitis in the foot – tissue inflation that causes pain in the heel.

“Being in a cart is a totally different deal. That’s something I’ve done at home quite a bit. When I was trying to gear up and be able to play in the Hero and see if I could actually do it, the walking part was the challenge, it wasn’t actually swinging.

“I’ve got to get this plantar to heal and that just takes time. It’s not something that happens overnight. It’s going to take a lot of rest and healing and unfortunately, treatment. It’s a tough road.”
