Is DeMar DeRozan the breakout star of the season?- Brian Scalabrine thinks that DeRozan’s move from All-star to MVP shouldn’t be overlooked

DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan is having a great season as the player is at the best compared to his performance in the earlier seasons. With one of the best companies Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball and others this season the Chicago Bulls star is shining across the charts. DeMar has been leading in the Bulls scoring and is significantly providing the best contributions among his other teammates this season.

In the last game against the Washington Wizards DeMar recorded 28 points, 9 rebounds and led his team to victory. In just 2  seconds remaining on the clock, DeMar hit an excellent corner three saving the Bulls from the loss against the Wizards. The Bulls recorded their 10th straight win by defeating the Wizards with 120-119 on the final board.

This was not the first time DeMar saved the Chicago Bulls at the last moment of the game. He did the same in the previous match against the Indiana Pacers as the player shot an outstanding one-legged three taking his team to the victory. The shots he made against the Pacers and the Wizards made him the first player in the NBA history to record back-to-back buzzer-beaters in consecutive games. On the same DeMar shared his opinion in the post-game interview as he said “It’s amazing, especially doing it on the road. I don’t know if I’m dreaming or if it’s real right now.”

“You work your butt off and you understand that if you’re in those positions, try to capitalize on them the best way you can because you’re going to have games where you miss some.”

Frank Isola and Brian Scalabrine agrees to the fact that DeMar DeRozan should get some serious consideration for being most improved

In a discussion with Frank Isola, Brain Scalabrine was convinced of the fact that DeMar DeRozan is the breakout star of this season. When Frank asked for his opinion on the same he said, “Ya, two things happened last year his assist numbers went through the roof in San Antonio and I just think as right now he has a much better view of the game. you know at one point he averaged at 1.8 assists in the following year 2.2 assists. Now I this last year I think he has 7 assists per game so he’s becoming like this guy who can warm his hands for the big plays. Now he has his guys around him they got the team around him. No question he’s having, look I don’t know if you get most improved but there should be some serious consideration for him getting most improved.”

Frank adds to the same goes on to say “100 per cent, it’s hard way from being an All-Star calibre player, he’s an MVP candidate. If that can happen to Julius Randle then why can’t this happen to DeMar DeRozan.”

Admitting to the same Brain further argues that there is a huge gap between being an MVP candidate and being an All-Star. And DeMar is the one who should get the attention he needs.

We can’t agree to this more the way DeMar is been performing he deserves to get acknowledged. Though this conversation is just a medium to acknowledgement of his ability, it is he who is going to leave his mark on the spot. The next game of the Bulls is against the Orlando Magic and it would be interesting to see if the same moment occurs, to give DeMar one more chance to complete a hattrick of his consecutive buzzer-beaters.
