Cody Rhodes finishing his story at WrestleMania 40 will go down in history as a moment to be remembered forever. The main event saw the end of Roman Reigns‘ historic 1,316-day title reign and featured appearances from many superstars such as Jey Uso, John Cena, The Rock, and The Undertaker.
In an interview with Mail Sport‘s Alex McCarthy, Jey Uso talked about his experience partaking in the main event of WrestleMania 40. He claimed that he did not know what was going to happen in the finish between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes and was just as excited as anybody to find out what the result of the match was going to be.
The 38-year-old was simply told that he was supposed to spear his brother Jimmy Uso off the stage and what part he played in the main event. He was so concentrated on his part that he did not know what else was about to go down. After finishing his spot, the Samoan hurried backstage to continue watching the rest of the match, as Rhodes was crowned WWE Undisputed Champion.
I didn't even know what was going down. They told me, this is your part, here's what you're going to do. I'm like, 'Alright, cool, I get to spear my brother off the stage, cool.Jey Uso on Mail Sport
Jey Uso claimed that watching the match made him feel like a wrestling fan again. He asserted that it was the best WrestleMania main event of all time. The former Tag Team Champion added that his favorite part of the match was The Undertaker’s appearance. He also revealed being highly emotional after the match ended.
Mark Henry believes Cody Rhodes shares more similarities with Ric Flair rather than Dusty Rhodes
Speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry revealed that Cody Rhodes reminds him more of Ric Flair rather than his father, Dusty Rhodes. The World’s Strongest Man said that The American Nightmare presents himself like a babyface. However, he listed several of his activities and compared them to the Nature Boy.
Henry pointed out how Rhodes hands out the belts, kisses the babies, hugs the girls on the way out, and high-fives the guys on both sides of the ring. However, if one listens to his cadence, he would remind one of Flair rather than of the American Dream. He believed that the WWE Undisputed Champion had many heel qualities. This belief is also shared by the Undertaker.
Once Rhodes does turn heel, he would likely cut a promo where he would acknowledge his father. However, he would claim that he always loved the Wheelin’ Dealin’ wrestling legend much more. He is simply playing everybody like a puppeteer at the moment. Fans would only get to see the real side of the American Nightmare later on.
