There has been no player like LeBron James in NBA history. He has built a huge fan following over the years and still holds the keys to the NBA as he gets ready to suit up for his 24th season.
James is the most followed NBA player and the fourth most followed athlete on Instagram with 154 million followers. While he has many haters, he has way more fans across the NBA world.
Some of his hardcore fans are even labeled as “Bronsexuals”. It is a slang term used to describe a very devoted and loyal fan of James. They support him no matter which team he plays for.
It looks like one such fan was caught up in a baby-naming dispute with his partner. The father, who is a fan of James, recommended naming his newborn son LeBron James.
So middle name is James. I think given the situation, it needs to be LeBron because they signed him today. It has a great ring to it. What if the Sixers give him tickets to a game?

They ultimately settled on James as the middle name instead. 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/MNOIZNH0kx
While the father suggested that the name sounds good when joined with the family name, his partner seemed reluctant to agree to it. With the fan hoping for a ticket from the Philadelphia 76ers after naming his son after the King, it could be assumed that he is a fan of the 76ers.
The 76ers have had the best summer so far in the NBA. After trading for Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics early in the offseason, they surprised the NBA world by signing James in free agency on a two-year deal.
The acquisition of the two former Finals MVP’s has gotten Philly fans optimistic heading into next season. James’ signing has already been felt off the court, with ticket prices surging even before he has played his first game for the franchise. With preseason tickets for a 76ers game reaching $300, it looks like the father of the baby is trying everything he can to get a ticket to watch his favorite player.
Fans react to couple’s dispute over naming their newborn son LeBron James
While it is unknown if the fan is native to Philly, it could be fair to assume that he is a fan of the four-time champion. James’ arrival has everyone excited as he joins the likes of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Brown.
After the video clip of the couple’s dispute went viral, fans reacted to it across social media.
🤣🤣 She ain't say it but she said it… why would we name our white son LeBron 🤣🤣🤣

Dad really tried to make free agency part of the birth certificate. 😂🏀

At least they found a compromise—James is a safe MVP choice. 😭😂

After the 2016 NBA finals I made a bet with my wife that I could paint our sons room, who was born in September of 2016, by myself so I could name my him Lebron. I’ll be happy to share that his middle name is after the King 😏

Kids gonna be pissed seeing this video knowing he could’ve been LeBron James

Fans found the clip to be hilarious. But it also shows the level of devotion and fandom James’ fanbase has toward him. The couple agreed to have ‘James’ as the middle name but ‘LeBron’ as a first name, which led to the dispute.
Jaylen Brown was blown away by LeBron James’ economic impact in Philly
LeBron James‘ impact goes beyond the basketball court. He transformed the fortunes of the Cleveland Cavaliers when he was drafted by them as the number one pick in 2003. Not only did he win them their first and only championship, but he also boosted the city’s economy.

It looks like the 41-year-old is having a similar impact in Philly as well. His new teammate Jaylen Brown was blown away by James’ impact on the city already.
The most incredible thing about LeBron signing with Philadelphia is what it did to the economy. I’ve seen clips and read reports about how much it boosted the local economy. It’s crazy. They were saying the economic impact increased by 400%. He hasn’t even gotten there yet, and it’s already having that kind of effect. When you talk about influence, power, and game changers, how do you not bring that up? Just by announcing that he’s coming, opportunities and resources increased.

Based on a report, James’ arrival is set to generate anywhere between $250 and $430 million in total regional economic activity. It remains to be seen what sort of impact he will have once he takes to the court when the 2026-27 campaign gets underway.
