LeBron James and New Teammates Working Out Together Should ‘Excite’ 76ers Fans, Claims Rich Paul

LeBron James is adapting to a new life in Philly after working out and having a few practice sessions with his new teammates. The new-look 76ers squad is expected to be serious contenders in the Eastern Conference next season.

The 76ers made some big changes in the summer after a disappointing end to their 2025-26 campaign. After finishing in the seventh spot in the East, they secured a place in the playoffs through the Play-In Tournament. While they pulled off an incredible 3-1 comeback against the Boston Celtics in the first round, they were clean swept by the New York Knicks in the next round.

So changes were needed as pressure mounted on the 76ers’ front office. They delivered in terms of acquisitions, landing Jaylen Brown and James in the offseason. After a few photos and videos of James’ workout session went viral, Rich Paul had a message for Philly fans.

If my team is showing that type of camaraderie, then i am excited about that. These guys are eager to get in the gym together. They were working out in terms of actions, where they are going to be on the court, which I think a workout should look a lot more like.

Rich Paul & Max Kellerman say Sixers fans should be hype after seeing the workout footage:

Rich Paul is James’ longtime friend and agent. He has been by James’ side throughout his career and played an instrumental role in the King’s latest move. James’ move to Philly was the biggest and most surprising move of the summer so far.

With a star-studded lineup, it can be argued that the current 76ers roster is the most talented team that James has ever played in his career. While they do have some doubters, Paul believes that Philly fans should be excited about all the camaraderie heading into next season.

How can the 76ers make it work after signing LeBron James?

The 76ers got their summer underway by trading for Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics in a blockbuster trade. After adding James to the team, their starting five will have Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Brown, and James. While they are a dominant team on paper, questions have been raised about how the team chemistry will be, as all of them are ball-dominant players.

Paul broke down what a championship team looks like and how the 76ers can make it work on his podcast.

If you ask any championship caliber team, it takes a sacrifice from everyone. When you are a championship team, everybody matters and everyone has to sacrifice because body language matters and energy matters.

James did make some sacrifices last season when he played alongside Luka Doncic in the Lakers. Doncic ran the offense while James was seen as more of a second or third scoring option during the season. However, it will take a lot more from the 76ers, given the talent they have right now.

Magic Johnson has no doubts over LeBron James’ role in Philly

LeBron James will be heading into his 24th season in the NBA. While he may not be the player he once was, he can still play a major role in a championship-contending team. Last season, he played an instrumental role in leading the Lakers to the second round of the playoffs without Doncic by his side.

Former NBA champion and Hall of Famer Magic Johnson believes that James will bring the 76ers together as a playmaker.

It’s going to be easy when you are a playmaker. He gets everybody involved in the game… one thing he knows how to do is bring everybody together.

James is expected to be more of a playmaker heading into the 2026-27 campaign. With scorers like Embiid, Maxey and Brown by his side, the 41-year-old can take a step back and orchestrate the offense while getting everyone involved.
