Minecraft Glow Squid: All you need to know!
The Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update has bought in many interesting mobs that have won in the player votes. The Minecraft Glow Squid is one such addition to the game and players love it!
Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update is the biggest update that the game has received in recent years and players are ecstatic over it. The mobs are a prime feature with the inclusion of the ever angry goats, the friendly axolotls and the glowing glow squids.

Minecraft Glow Squid
The Glow Squid is a variant of the squid with a turquoise color and small turquoise light particles floating around it.

Locations and Spawns
They are generally found in underwater cave biomes and in total darkness. They spawn in groups of 2-4 and are exclusive to the caves in both the Java and Bedrock Editions.
Behaviour
Minecraft Glow Squid is a passive mob that wander around aimlessly in the water bodies. While moving, they slowly move their tentacles in a regulated fashion and move forward.
They will suffocate if they leave the water body and die. They do not attack the players or try to harm them in any way.
Even though their name is Glow Squid, they do not produce light an glow with a soft color. They will also stop glowing if the players attack them and release a bright liquid from their mouth.
The Glow Squids are also hunted by Guardians, Elder guardians and Axolotls. Although there are baby Glow squids, there are no ways of breeding them. This is a trait that they share with the Squid.
Drops
Upon death the Glow squids will drop the following:
- 1-3 sacs of glow ink sacs.
- 1-3 EXP orbs
