Legendary fighter Alistair Overeem has once again tested positive for banned substances after his trilogy bout against Badr Hari in Glory Kickboxing. The promotion has banned him for the next 12 months following a failed drug test. It is not known what substances he tested positive for this time.
As reported by Vechtsports, Glory Kickboxing has banned Alistair Overeem from competing for 12 months. The fight results against Badr Hari will now be overturned to a no-contest. As a result of the failed drug test, Overeem has been taken off of the Heavyweight rankings. On another note, a fighter named Mohammed J has been taken off the rankings for failing a drug test.
Alistair Overeem has had multiple failed drug tests in the past. Fight fans have always believed that Overeem was using illegal substances in some ways. Though he will have a blemish on his record for using banned substances, he has one of the best resumes in the UFC Heavyweight Division.

He had victories over Mark Hunt, Junior Dos Santos, Fabricio Werdum, Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar, just to name a few. Into his 40s now, it is unlikely Overeem will return to MMA and continue to do Kickboxing bouts once his suspension is over.
Alistair Overeem had an abnormal body transformation for his fight against Badr Hari
In his last UFC fight against Alexander Volkov, Alistair Overeem’s physique looked a mere shadow of its former self. It was evident in his performance as he was outclassed by Volkov and got finished in the second round. However, everything changed when he signed with Glory Kickboxing for multiple bouts.
During the weigh-in for his bout against Badr Hari, he looked in the best shape of his life. The body was much leaner with no excess fat. It turns out now that it was a hint of Overeem possibly being on substance.
Overeem, now 42 years old, is certainly in the latter stages of his fighting career. After serving a 12-month suspension, he will be 43, so it remains to be seen if the fight fans can see the Dutchman fight again.
