2023 is yet another season with new line-ups on the grid in MotoGP. Enea Bastianini will be riding for Ducati Lenovo team alongside Francesco Bagnaia. The Italian moved from Gresini Racing and replaced Jack Miller. This Italian line up for the team has caused quite a stir among people. The Italian duo went toe to toe last season and Bastianini proved to be a headache for the Ducati Lenovo team.
Enea Bastianini and Pecco Bagnaia aware of the pressure on them to be rivals have dismissed any form of hatred towards each other. The team is fully focused on the 2023 season. It is another opportunity for the riders to exhibit their motor racing skills. However, this new year comes with a new format. Every race weekend, MotoGP will run sprint races.
The new sprint race format has riled up Enea Bastianini. The Italian does not think that he will be able to perform well. The change in the format affects the riders approach to the weekend. The competitive edge is even higher but at what cost is the question. Last season Pecco with Ducati MotoGP racing won the world title. Going into the new season as defending champions the pressure is on for the new teammates. Bastianini spoke about his place in his new team, the rider stated that the only thing familiar was his technician who accompanied him from Gresini Racing.

““La Bestia” quoted to the Paddock GP his take on the sprint race. The objective will be to be more regular and more consistent, so I will have to try to adapt to sprint races because normally my favorite part of the race is the final stage, which can be a problem. But we’ll see how things go. The objective will be to win, which is what they are used to at Ducati”. The rider is clear about his goal for the season despite new challenges.
“We already had a good feeling on the bike on test day in Valencia, so I don’t think it’s a big problem. I still don’t know what the test program will be at Sepang, but I will have to work a lot with Pecco, especially in testing, to have the best possible bike for the races. From there it’s just adding points and I hope we can do a good job. After the race, it’s every man for himself,” he concluded.
The official test is scheduled for the 10th to 12th February in Sepang. The test is a significant one in terms of preparations for the upcoming season. La Bestia has concerns over the sprint races already as it is a new season with challenges. Bastianini and Bagnaia will be working together with Ducati during this period to bring forward their best form in order to conquer MotoGP for yet another year as they aim to retain the team’s championships.
