The NASCAR garage is at Kansas Motor Speedway for the playoff races in the all three national series, with it marking the start of R-12 in the Cup Series. It is the only normal track in the round with Talladega and Roval hosting the other two races. This factor makes it an interesting race for everyone involved.
But there is one key factor that might screw up the race for many drivers on Sunday according to 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick. The ex-SHR driver via his podcast predicted that wind is a major concern at Kansas, and it is changing direction every other day makes it a big mess for drivers to face during the race.
He went on to explain how it will cause a tailwind if the direction of the wind down the back of the straightway and asserted that it was make the car tight on turn-3, messing up the flow. This will affect driver in the very next-turn as well and will make them make a funky exit that can result in crashing into the wall.
Kevin Harvick makes wild playoff prediction
In the same podcast, Harvick named the driver who he thinks won’t get out of the second round of post-season. Daniel Suarez, William Byron, Chase Briscoe and Chase Elliott made it to the list. Having the HMS duo is a wild choice considering they have the fastest cars. But he backed his claim arguing these drivers has just been okay in the last races.
The mess Harvick predicted that can come because of the wind is capable of ruining the playoff chances of these drivers including the HMS duo. It will be interesting to how good both of predictions will after next Sunday’s race.
