Bubba Wallace in Kansas

Bubba Wallace has once again silenced his critic in an emphatic fashion as he beat his own boss Denny Hamlin in the final lap battle to win his second career cup race. The win marks 23X1 Racing’s second win at Kansas as Kurt Busch, who is now out with a concussion, secured a win earlier this season at Kansas Speedway.

Bubba Wallace drove his No:45 Camry to a win at Kansas once again to the disappointment of the playoff 16 as they missed out on another automatic progress to the Next-Round that would have come from a win. The pack also included 23X1 Racing co-owner Denny Hamlin who finished P2 in the race that saw 4 Toyota cars in the top 5 as he couldn’t catch up with Wallace.

Bubba Wallace took over the lead from Alex Bowman in the final stages and didn’t need to look back as the final stage went caution-less, he led a personal best 58 laps to the win. Christopher Bell of Joe Gibbs Racing finished the race on P3 ahead of Alex Bowman at P4 and Martin Truex Jr. at P5.

Bubba Wallace has a complicated relationship with NASCAR fans that have multiple layers of complexity to it. Though Bubba Wallace has a strong group of people who likes to criticize him or are considered to hate NASCAR twitter was surprisingly appreciative of the sole African American of the cup grid’s win as they were just a few tweets that disregarded his win.
