The two-time NASCAR Cup series champion Kyle Busch took a page out of Bubba Wallace’s book and publicly called himself out over the costly crashes he had this season following the disappointing Texas outing. He was seemingly frustrated over the continued failure from his side to get the team the finishes they deserved.
Busch lost control of his No:8 Chevy Camaro ZL1 in the first stage of the race and slammed into the wall. Infrequently, his teammate Austin Dillon crashed out, encountering a similar situation, making what was a bad day for Richard Childress Racing worse. He is now the lowest-placed driver in the playoff with 17 17-point deficit from the Cutline.
While talking about the poor result, Busch didn’t mince his words and admitted that he let his team down. He said, as reported by ProTalk, “I’m a complete letdown to my team right now, not being able to get the results that we need. Every time we try, I crash. It’s like the less I try, I ride around, the better days we have.”

Kyle Busch doesn’t feel good about his chances at Talladega
The upcoming two races in the R-12 will be vital for Busch’s progression to the next round of the playoffs. Talladega will be the primary challenge for Busch, and ROVAL will be the second, two races known for uncertainty. Busch being the winner during the spring event gives him an edge.
But he doesn’t seem confident about repeating the feat this time at the final Superspeedway race of the season. He said, “Not very good. But we’re going to go there and fight as hard as we can and run hard. RCR has had a strong restrictor-plate program, so that’s all we could do.”
If not for a slump that lasted a couple of races, the first 19 Cup events were solid for Kyle Busch. But since his disappointing P35 finish on the 20th race, it has been days of nightmares for the No:8 team. In the last ten races, he has scored just 3 top-10 finishes. He finished four races outside the top 30. With no confidence and poor momentum, Busch needs to level up to progress to the next round.
