Joey Logano won the 2022 NASCAR cup championship
Joey Logano is your 2022 NASCAR cup series Champion. The No:22 Team Penske driver had the perfect day when it was demanded of him. The veteran’s stock car racing master class earned him the second cup series title of his career. He had won the 2018 cup title with Team Penske. Logano, who started the season with the LA clash win, has now capped it with another at Phoenix.
Going into the final laps, the fight for the championship was between Joey Logano and Ross Chastain. A crash with Chastain in the race’s latter half ruled out Chase Elliott from the championship picture. Christopher Bell’s hopes ended after a terrible pit stop that lasted19.8 seconds.
Ross Chastain gave everything he had for the win, but it wasn’t enough to outrace Joey Logano, who was on a different level. Logano’s fight for the race win mainly was against his teammate Ryan Blaney, who caps off 2022 with zero cup race wins. Logano led over 187 laps, starting on the pole, while Blaney led 109 laps.

Fans on Twitter had a mixed reaction to Joey Logano’s win. Most of them quickly appreciated the veteran’s perfect day and the impressive season he had.
There were comments trashing the playoff system and the Phoenix track from fans disappointed by the final results.
With championship win, Logano has proven that he is worthy of the tag the best of his generation and one of the all-time best at Team Penske. If he can continue his fine form, he could easily end his career at the Ford team as their greatest ever.
