Brooklyn Nets reliefs after Kyrie Irving’s debut date announced

Kyrie Irving

Brooklyn Nets are struggling right now and they have lost their two consecutive games, but the Nets have been relieved after the announcement of Kyrie Irving’s coming back into the league. Kyrie is making his debut after missing the first 35 games of the season for the Brooklyn Nets.

Irving’s adamant stance has been causing quite a few hindrances for the Nets because as a player he has a crucial role to play in the nets rotation and his absence is still evident. though he may have lost the synergy with the team due to his absence he can always build it up as there’s no doubt in his potential and talent on the court.

According to Shams Charania, Kyrie Irving will make his debut on Wednesday against Indiana Pacers. Kyrie missed his previous game due to his decision of remaining unvaccinated from Covid-19 vaccines, because of which on 12 October, Nets decided to not allow Irving on the roster as a part-time player and he wasn’t even allowed to practice with the team.

Kyrie Irving’s return was solely dependent on him whether he will vaccinate himself or not because facilities for practice were only allowed for vaccinated players. Even as per the New York state laws unvaccinated players were supposed to not be given the right to play and it further obstructed Kyrie Irving to play in the league. The vaccine mandates stated “If you want to watch basketball in the arena with 10,000 people you have to show your vaccination proof,” so he was not allowed to play home games for the Nets.

Earlier in the mid of December, Brooklyn Nets took a U-turn over their decision of not letting Kyrie Irving play in road games and allowed him to make his debut in the season. Just after the announcement Kyrie went into the NBAs Covid Healthy and Safety Protocol and he was in it for 10 days, later they cleared him last week.

Will Irving be in the starting line-up for the Nets?

According to ESPN, Irving last week said that “I really had to sit back and think and try not to become too emotionally attached to what they were deciding to do. I had to really evaluate things and see it from their perspective, meaning the organization, my teammates,” he added “I really empathized and I understood their choice to say if you are not going to be fully vaccinated, then you can’t be a full participant.”

It’s still unclear whether Steve Nash will allow Irving to play in the starting line-up because Kyrie is debuting this season after a long time since he last played any game and without any coordination with the team. Last week Steve Nash head coach of Nets said “I’d say probably he would take somewhere between a week and two weeks to ramp-up.”

Nash also added, “He’s isolating, so that puts another layer to the ramp-up. It’s not like he’s been working out. I’d imagine it’s going to be closer to two weeks once he comes out of protocols. We’ll see how it goes, though, because we have to evaluate him from a physical and performance standpoint, and then a basketball standpoint as well.”

Whatever the decision may be but the fans are surely excited that Kyrie Irving is back. The Nets have one of the best Big 3 this season but due to unseen circumstances, they are yet to debut on the court. So, this news just brings hope for the Nets fans.
