WATCH: Los Angeles Clipper Kawhi Leonard’s game status revealed prior to Los Angeles Clippers vs Utah Jazz Game 6
Kawhi Leonard
The Los Angeles Clippers meet Utah Jazz at their home for game 6 today. Recently, Kawhi Leonard of LA Clippers encountered an unfortunate event. The talismanic LA Clipper’s player had torched the entire Utah Jazz team in the last 3 games. Alongside Paul George, Kawhi Leonard made huge contribution on the scoring end for the team. After losing out 2 games at first, he was the one who tuned the channel of aggressive game for the team. Kawhi Leonard’s effortless shooting and complimentary defense were the highlights in the playoff series. Now that game 4 made otherwise options with injury, his playing status was still under scrutiny before game 6.
While the Clippers contend for the Western Conference title, lots of carnage has emerged in the East as well: Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, De’Andre Hunter of the Atlanta Hawks, and Donte DiVincenzo of the Milwaukee Bucks have been hurt, with Hunter and DiVincenzo being out for extended periods of time. Injury woes have concerned the entire playoffs this season. Anthony Davis and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers were affected. Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks was affected, albeit not to the same degree. Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets missed the playoffs due to a regular-season injury. And now Kawhi Leonard‘s injury has shattered the LA Clippers.
Kawhi Leonard’s update on injury
The LA Clippers’ forward faced the injury while he was on a transition offense sequence. Joe Ingles fouled him on the way and he straight away grabbed his knee region. This made him listed as injured for game 5. However, now the team fears it is more than just knee injury. There might be concerns over his ACL tear as well. As a result, the talisman, Kawhi Leonard was reported unavailable just before few moments of Game 6.
The Clippers aren’t surprised to learn that Kawhi won’t play; this was an expected piece of news. Yet, it is still a reminder that Los Angeles will have to do this the hard way, without its best player and proven superstar. The Utah Jazz face LA Clippers at Staples centre today. The 3-2 series lead will put huge advantage coming back to Staples Center as well.
In the absence of Kawhi Leonard, a lot of things have to be done by Paul George and Reggie Jackson. Both of the front court guards ensured the success in game 5 and just need to repeat the tale. This the perfect chance to seal the series and avoid game 7 with a 3 game winning momentum.
