The misery for the Los Angeles Clippers continues once again. The team has been very unfortunate from the start. The regular season and post season has been filled with drama for the squad. With their injury scares over star player Kawhi Leonard already troubling, center Ivica Zubac is out with injury as well. The official news arrived just ahead of game 5 of the western conference finals as both teams geared up for glory. Los Angeles Clippers are having a tough time. Other than being shorthanded, important players have not delivered.
The Phoenix Suns will be happier than ever. Deandre Ayton’s best match up is now on the injury list. While the game progresses, Suns will look to close the chapter and head for the finals with a 4-1. After Zubac, DeMarcus Cousins will be the best match. But still Ayton will have an edge over the slow cousins.
Misery for Los Angeles Clippers
Ivica Zubac will be joining superstar Kawhi Leonard as part of the game’s injury list as the injury bug continue to deal a huge blow to this resilient Los Angeles Clippers unit. With Zubac out, expect DeMarcus Cousins to get heavy minutes while Nicolas Batum might also get the nod to play a ton of frontcourt minutes. While Paul George and Reggie Jackson are expected to carry the scoring duties with Leonard still out.
In Games 3 and 4, Zubac tallied an average of 14 points and 15 boards and logged 36.1 huge minutes for head coach Ty Lue. It’s safe to say that the Clippers will be missing their big man on Monday night, big time. He’s been in and out of the starting line-up and has shown signs of potential every time he gets an opportunity. Though his numbers won’t wow you on the onset, his presence in the paint and his effort have been stellar and him being out of Game 5 is a tough gut punch for the road team. With Ivica Zubac out, the Los Angeles Clippers will have a tough time in the do or die game.
