Will Smith is back in the headlines and the reason this time is again regarding the internet-favorite slap he registered on Chris Rock at this year’s Oscar Awards show. That slap didn’t just divide the internet but also completely changed the Hollywood actor’s life. Disciplinary actions were taken against Will Smith as he stands banned from the Oscars for a decade and even had to resign from his membership. All this sent the actor down to the ‘lowest point’ of his life.
The reason behind Will Smith slapping the life out of comedian, Chris Rock was a joke. As Chris cracked a joke comparing Jada Pinkett Smith’s (suffers from alopecia) tightly cropped hair to Demi Moore’s appearance in the film “G.I. Jane” which wasn’t really accepted by Will Smith and resulted in immediate violent action. The actor got revenge for his wife but lost a lot of things from fame, money and respect.
Will Smith’s situation looked like he’ll be done with the industry soon. As the actor wasn’t really the same after the slap and was down at the lowest point of his life. The past six months have been nothing but full of straight struggles for him. But he had someone who kept him up as a warrior while being real with him.
As recently appearing on Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes podcast, “All The Smoke,” Will Smith revealed how veteran actor, Denzel Washington played a very important role in his life since his slap on Chris Rock which was heard worldwide.

On the podcast, the former NBA stars discussed a variety of topics with Will Smith. The worldwide heard slap was also one of those and Stephen Jackson claiming to understand the intentions behind it showed out his support to the actor for Smith’s actions. As nearing the end of the podcast the former stars questioned the Oscar-winning actor: “If you could see one guest on our show, who would it be?”
Replying to this question Will Smith enquired the stars about having Denzel Washington and they were shocked just hearing the name out and hyped up with the response. Stephen Jackson even yelled: “Shut the front door,” and had everyone laughing in the room.
Will Smith though talking about Denzel Washington, revealed the support he got from him during his recent struggling time. As the actor said: “Denzel grabbed me up in these last six months. He’s real real.” Matt Barnes adding to it quoted: “You leaned on him, love that for you.” Denzel Washington has really helped Will Smith and today the star is set to run a comeback with his new movie, Emancipation.
