Trade rumors have again come crawling back to Russell Westbrook in the midseason. After Kyrie Irving demanded a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, there was news circling around the league that the Los Angeles Lakers are leading among the teams to acquire Irving. Los Angeles already has highly-paid players and does not have enough salary cap for Westbrook. Russell Westbrook’s brother Raynard Westbrook‘s recent activity on Twitter might have some trade suggestions for NBA fans.

In his recent activity on Twitter Ray liked two of the Tweets from NBA fans that are linked to trade rumors about his brother. One of the Tweets that Ray liked was a shot at LeBron James and Phil Handy, calling them childish. “LeBron and Phil are too old for the childishness. I am ready for Russ to be in a better environment,” the Tweet wrote. While Russell’s production has exponentially decreased in the past two seasons, there is a possibility that the media attention that playing with LeBron brings about might be too much for the former MVP.

Another Tweet that Ray liked was alluding to the trade scenario for Westbrook and his possible trade from Los Angeles. “Lakers won’t make the playoffs if they trade Russ,” another Tweet said. Activities by Brodie‘s brother are a clear indication that his brother is clearly not happy playing for the Lakers right now. Westbrook has certainly accepted his 6th man role with the Lakers, but being the alpha that he has been throughout, it makes sense for him not to be happy with his current situation.

LeBron James and the Lakers would have chosen Kyrie Irving over Russell Westbrook

LeBron and Kyrie

Trading for Kyrie Irving, amidst the rumors that the 8 x All-Star is looking to land himself in Los Angeles is certainly a viable option for the Lakers. Adding Irving would not only solve the team’s problem of ball handling in absence of James on the floor, but it will also give them a better scoring option. Both LeBron and Irving have played with each other in Cleveland and won a championship together in 2016. With a stellar performance from both superstars, Cavs eliminated a 3-1 deficit to win the championship.

The 4 x  NBA champion has already expressed his opinion about playing with Irving, which might force the organization to pull the trade. Earlier, before Irving signed a one-year deal with the Nets, there were chatters around the league that he might want to join Bron the team. Adding a player like Uncle Drew to the roster certainly has its consequences. Moreover, it can also help in the Lakers’ championship hopes.
