“He needs to be in Taiwan with Dwight” DeAndre Jordan gets obliterated by fans after leading the WORST defensive sequence ever

“He needs to be in Taiwan with Dwight” DeAndre Jordan gets obliterated by fans after leading the WORST defensive sequence ever

DeAndre Jordan

Fans blasted DeAndre Jordan of the Denver Nuggets for failing to secure a defensive rebound four times in one play during their game versus Boston Celtics. Jordan was challenged to the rebound twice by Celtics guard Payton Pritchard, the smallest player on the court which resulted in a basket on their end proving that DeAndre is a goner.

DeAndre Jordan was given a one-year veteran’s minimum contract by the Denver Nuggets this offseason making him the starter’s backup to Nikola Jokic. He was far from becoming a useful big man after he was given that backup position. Since then he has demonstrated that the decision to sign him was not as terrible as people first thought and he is really giving a competitive squad like Denver a dependable and skilled big man to serve as a bench player. However, following this specific play the Nuggets felt the need to reconsider the entire decision.

Payton Pritchard of Boston made the game’s best hustle play in the second quarter and it was all thanks to DeAndre Jordan. Before Jordan got possession of the ball, the Celtics had one possession where they failed to make five straight shots. DeAndre was spotted bouncing around aimlessly during those five misses rather than allowing the Celtic players to outrebound him. Pritchard, however, sneaked in from behind, grabbed the ball away and banked in a layup to cap the frantic sequence just as he turned to push the ball up the court. The effort caused a Nuggets timeout and enraged the Celtics bench.

Jayson Tatum and the Celtics get past Jokic-led Nuggets

The offense of the Celtics was crucial in preventing the reigning MVP from seeking payback. Boston defeated Denver 131-112 on Friday night to extend their season-best winning run to five games, led by Jayson Tatum’s 34 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Boston had just seven turnovers and made 16 3-pointers while shooting 57% from the field. Al Horford also put together a solid effort, making six 3-pointers in addition to his 21 points and seven rebounds, while Jaylen Brown ended with 25 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.

Aaron Gordon scored 17 points and eight rebounds, while Nikola Jokic finished with 29 points and eight rebounds despite early foul trouble. Because of the absence of Bones Hyland on the bench due to health and safety procedures, the Nuggets managed to maintain a competitive game. The most effective player was Bruce Brown, who played 37 minutes and finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Jamal Murray contributed 14 points and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope provided 15 also for the Nuggets.

Fans react to DeAndre Jordan’s antics on the court

The Nuggets struggle without Jokic, especially because DeAndre Jordan is getting older and is becoming less effective. Jordan was outrebounded and the ball was stolen by Paton Pritchard, whose tenacity as a smaller guard was clearly demonstrated. Additionally, during one of the unsuccessful rebounds, Michael Porter Jr. restricted Jordan’s path and appeared uninterested the entire time just like him.

This is how the fans reacted to the certain play of DeAndre Jordan on Twitter:

DeAndre Jordan has played 13 minutes per game so far this season, averaging 5.6 points and 5.1 rebounds. Even though he may no longer consistently record double-doubles, every time he enters the court, he provides the team with strong rebounding and easy scores. Although he might not be the same Jordan as he was a few seasons ago, he can contribute meaningful minutes off the bench for a side that’s in the quest for a championship and help the team win games. Hopefully, Jordan won’t continue to play as he did tonight.
