Former Denver Nuggets player Austin Rivers has recently expressed regret and bitterness over missing out on his former team’s run to the NBA Finals. In a recent episode of his podcast, “Off Guard with Austin Rivers,” the shooting guard opened up about his feelings towards the Nuggets’ success.

Rivers, who played for the Nuggets for the past two seasons, admitted that it bothered him to see his former team reach the Finals without him. He expressed disappointment at not being able to play alongside star guard Jamal Murray.

“It bothers me that they are in the Finals, yes,” Rivers said. “It bothers me that I didn’t get to play with Jamal. It bothers me that like everyone now is like ‘Oh, they have this complete roster.’ No they f*****g don’t.”

Furthermore, Rivers criticized the notion that the Nuggets have a complete roster, claiming that they only play with a limited number of players. He stated, “They have seven guys that they play. They don’t even play a full roster. They’re not even playing a full team right now.”

Despite his personal frustrations, Rivers expressed happiness for his former teammates Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr., acknowledging their contributions to the team’s success. He also reflected on the challenging series between the Timberwolves and Nuggets during his own playoff experience, admitting that it was a difficult time for him.

Rivers’ future with the Nuggets remains uncertain as he enters free agency. While a reunion with the team is not ruled out, it remains unclear whether the Minnesota Timberwolves, his most recent team, would prioritize re-signing him.

In a thrilling Game 2 matchup, the Miami Heat showcased their resilience as they fought back from an eight-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter to secure a 111-108 victory over the Denver Nuggets. The win has evened the series at 1-1 as the teams now prepare to face off at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets put on an offensive masterclass, scoring an impressive 41 points on an efficient 16-of-28 shooting. However, unlike Game 1, Jokic’s playmaking abilities were somewhat restrained, finishing the game with just four assists. Despite Jokic’s brilliance, it wasn’t enough to hold off the resilient Heat.

Gabe Vincent, an undrafted player who has emerged as a rising star for Miami, stole the spotlight with an outstanding performance. Vincent scored 23 points, showcasing his scoring prowess by shooting 66.7 percent from the field on 8-of-12 shooting. Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler also made significant contributions, each tallying 21 points for the Heat. Adebayo additionally grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists.

Although Jamal Murray struggled to find his rhythm for most of the game, he suddenly came alive in the closing minutes, knocking down several clutch shots to bring the Nuggets within striking distance. Murray concluded the game with 18 points, but unfortunately, his late-game heroics fell short as his potential game-tying three-pointer rimmed out, allowing the Heat to hold on for the win.

With the series now shifting to Miami, the Nuggets will be eager to regain their homecourt advantage. The Heat, boosted by their comeback victory, will aim to maintain their momentum and take the lead in front of their passionate home fans.
