“He’s playing like Klay, Steph” Kevin Durant showers Kevin Huerter with the ultimate praise
Kevin Durant and Kevin Huerter
Kevin Durant gave Kevin Huerter and the Sacramento Kings their flower for their commendable performances this year. The Kings have not made the playoffs since 2006 and have remained one of the most disappointing teams in the league for more than a decade. With their win against Memphis Grizzlies, the Kings registered their 7th straight win and now stand on top of the Pacific division. KD had some good words for young Kevin Huerter and said he was playing like Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.
Durant said speaking with Eddie Gonzalez on Boardroom’s recent episode of “The ETCs”, Durant said, “Kevin Huerter, right now, he’s playing like Klay [Thompson], Steph [Curry].” Indeed Huerter is having a season of his own playing in a different zone right now. The former Atlanta Hawks guard is averaging over 16 points a game and has been shooting lights out from beyond the arc at 50% this season. A crazier is the fact that he has been averaging 7 threes a game.
Durant also said about Huerter’s style of shooting the ball was impressive and everyone who is locked in should watch how he shoots. Kevin said, “The way he’s coming off the hand-off and shooting the basketball right now… you’ve got to watch how Kevin Huerter is shooting this ball right now.” Durant also dropped huge praise for other players like Terence Davis, De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, and Domantas Sabonis all perhaps playing the best basketball of their careers so far.
Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets fall to the Philadelphia 76ers without Joel Embiid
Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets fell to the Philadelphia 76ers who were playing without their star players like Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. The game in Philadelphia was supposed to be an easy win for the Nets as their star player Kyrie Irving has returned from suspension. Even having their full lineup, the Nets were unable to record a win against the 76ers. Durant scored 20 points, behind Kyrie Irving who scored team-high 23 points. Except for Durant and Kyrie Irving, none of the Nets’ players scored above 15 points.
The game had so much hype since it was Ben Simmons’ first game in Philadelphia and fans were waiting to take on Simmons even before the game had started. As Shams Charania reported, the fans were cursing and hacking Simmons even before the game had started and Ben came out to warm up. Simmons scored 11 points for the Brooklyn Nets and dropped 11 dimes, but it wasn’t enough against the 76ers who came determined to win.
