“LeBron James is winning his 5th ring” NBA Twitter reacts to reports of Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook trade
Lebron James and Kyrie Irving
LeBron James has spent a significant portion of his career striving for the honour of “Greatest Of All Time,” and although some may believe he has already attained it, the majority of fans will choose Michael Jordan over him simply because MJ won more titles. LeBron missed 6 out of 10 chances to win, but his career is still young as he only managed to win 4 rings. LeBron was having one of his most dominant seasons of his career despite being in his 19th season in the NBA, averaging 30.6 points per game, the third-highest total of his career thus far.
The Brooklyn Nets and LA Lakers are reportedly in talks to trade Russell Westbrook for Kyrie Irving, according to NBA Insider Chris Haynes. Uncle Drew exercised his $36 million player option after failing to reach an agreement on a maximum deal. According to a number of sources, the former champion had requested to be traded. The LA Lakers have emerged as a leading candidate to sign Irving, reuniting him with LeBron James, a former teammate on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Will Lebron James earn his 5th ring with Kyrie Irving by his side?
Since his star teammate Kevin Durant asked the Nets for a trade, Irving is anticipated to be traded despite having just chosen to enter the final year of his contract for $36.4 million. Given his history of injuries and the fact that he recently played just 29 games due to his refusal to acquire the COVID-19 vaccination, Irving hasn’t played 70 games in a season since 2017 while still a member of the Cavaliers. Reports have continuously linked Kyrie to the Los Angeles Lakers as LeBron James and LA seem to be the heads on favorite to land the superstar point guard.
Active trade negotiations between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets would send star point guard Russell Westbrook to Brooklyn in exchange for star point guard Kyrie Irving, according to various sources. However, the most recent sources suggest that the Nets and Lakers are actively discussing a Westbrook-Irving trade in which the Brooklyn franchise wants to include Joe Harris in the transfer, thus the agreement includes a draft compensation. On the other side, Pelinka and company prefer Seth Curry over Harris for inclusion. The Lakers will need Kyrie Irving to win them another championship with James and company who missed out the Finals action for two straight years after winning in 2020.

NBA Twitter universe reacts to the potential Irving-Westbrook trade
The NBA twitter world was in frenzy when reports claimed that there have been talks for a possible Irving-Westbrook trade between the Nets and the Lakers. Here’s how some of the fans reacted:
According to TNT sideline reporter Chris Haynes, the trade talks are still in the early stages. Speaking of Joe Harris and Seth Curry, Curry is in the final year of his deal and is owed $8.5 million. Harris, on the other hand, has $38.6M remaining on his deal over the next two years. Given the season Russ just had, trading for Kyrie in return for Westbrook would be a brilliant move by the Lakers front office.
