NBA analyst Richard Jefferson rated Los Angeles Lakers player Russell Westbrook’s gameplay against the Denver Nuggets as one of his top performances. Russ accepted a bench role and was seen getting on the court when the team needed him. The LA Lakers registered their first win of the season, and Russ played a significant part in it.
Richard Jefferson recently talked about Westbrook’s game, on the show, “NBA Today”. He quoted, “I was always told it’s not about doing your role it’s about doing your role with enthusiasm if you commit to your role with enthusiasm versus like all right fine I’ll do it and I’ll go out there and I’ll play just enough and I’ll do just enough and I’m gonna have a certain attitude about me.”
Richard added, “I’m not saying that Russ did it but he showed up and he said hey look I am willing to do whatever it takes for the team to be successful his teammates complimented and the fans you felt that injury…” Westbrook earlier noted that he had previously dealt with a hamstring issue due to his changing pregame routine, as he has been a starter throughout his career. But he looks to be fine now and is taking a hit for the team’s success and long run.

The Los Angeles Lakers avoided losing their sixth game of the season as they hunt down the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, with a score line 121-110. LA Lakers ‘Big 3’ LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, stepped up to the challenge and made valuable contributions for the team’s first win. Brodie came off the bench to score 18 points and stepped up big when needed.
Westbrook played for almost 32 minutes, adding eight rebounds and eight assists to his tally while getting big 18 points. He was 6-of-12 from the floor, including 2-of-4 from the three-point range. In his postgame press conference, he also said he would do whatever it takes to lift the team. Russell’s form is a light of hope for the Lakers. They will be pleased to see things falling in place like better shooting, Davis’s ‘fighting’ contribution, Russ stepping up, etc.
The Lakers team gave their coach Darvin Ham a water shower in the locker room after the game but were trolled all over by the fans for celebrating, like ‘winning the championship.’ The Lakers will be hopeful that these strategies will keep working for them in the upcoming games.
