Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley have gone from teammates to opponents within a short time, and their rivalry seems to have re-ignited. The Chicago Bulls ended their Western road trip with games against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. Beverley mocked LeBron James in the Bull’s win against the Lakers, and Westbrook did not miss his chance to go at Beverley since their time as teammates ended.

Westbrook hit a tough fadeaway jumper over Beverley and got the foul and the bucket. He then pulled out his iconic ‘rock the baby’ celebration in front of the Los Angeles crowd. Beverley had pulled out the ‘too small’ celebration against LeBron James on Sunday night, and Lakers fans would have enjoyed something Westbrook did after a long time.

Russ and Beverley did not have a successful time at the Lakers, but they did say they put their past behind them and became brothers while working together. However, both are known for instigating anyone and everyone on the court, and Westbrook did not miss the opportunity. Russell Westbrook and LeBron had a great relationship which might have tarnished during Russ’ time in LA, but he has the King’s back when it comes to Patrick Beverley.

The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Chicago Bulls 124-112 in a comfortable win on Monday night. Nicolas Batum led the Clippers, who shot 8/10 threes for 24 points as the Clippers out-shot the Bulls. Russell Westbrook provided 12 points and ten assists in facilitating role while shooting 55% from the field. Westbrook, however, missed all three of his free throws, but it did not matter as the Bulls could not keep up with LA.

The Clippers shot 50% from three-point range as a team, to the Bulls 39%. In any game, around 40% from three would be enough for a couple, but Batum and Eric Gordon going 13/19 from three did not give the Bulls any chance of winning. With around four and a half minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Bulls subbed out their starters as the game had already gone out of reach.

The Chicago Bulls are in a tight spot at the edge of the play-in race in the Eastern Conference. The Clippers, meanwhile, have all but secured a playoff spot and are just 0.5 games behind the 4th-seeded Phoenix Suns. The Clippers have yet to build a win-streak that stopped them from taking hold of the 4th seed, while the Suns lost 6 of their last nine games.
