The Los Angeles Lakers have been far from their best in the 2021-22 season and have found it challenging to secure consecutive wins, especially without LeBron James. One of the players who have not been able to live up to his hype for the purple and gold army is Russell Westbrook, the leading triple-double scorer has not only failed to deliver in terms of leading the team but has even gone onto register embarrassing and staggering number of turnovers game after game as well.
Knowing that turnovers are a just slip-ups from marquee players, Russell Westbrook has been often found making a hefty turnover during the clutch moments. Many a times for which he has been criticized by the fans as well. However, entering the game against the Boston Celtics, Russ has gone onto secure a record which he would surely not want to look twice.

There is no denying that Russell Westbrook is one amongst the Top 100 players to have ever played in the league. A former MVP as well, who has even become the face of the league during his peak has somehow been hindered with turnovers throughout his stint in the NBA and his performance for the Los Angeles Lakers’ in the 2021-22 season has only gone onto emphasize upon the same.
On one hand, where players like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have taken 1342 and 1154 games in registering 4,000 career turnovers. Russell Westbrook has been able to achieve the same feat in only 966 games. Making it even more clear, why he needs to try a different role for the Lakers amid their on-going struggles.
