Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid
If there was one player who was sure to part ways with his team after the NBA 2020-21 Season, it was Ben Simmons. After being booed by his home fans within the stadium, it seemed like the Australian playmaker holds no intentions to stay with the Philadelphia 76ers. Yet with unprecedented events on the cards, the 25-years0old has made his way back into the white and blue squad. And the Twitteratis cannot keep calm, having enough material to troll the player.
Things went haywire went reports came in that Simmons had even left his home from Philly in order to speed up his trade negotiations. Having already missed his team practice in the preseason build up, Doc Rivers and Joel Embiid were evident in showing their dismay to the player. However, as things stand it is Ben Simmons who will be featuring in the 76ers roster itself in the NBA 2021-22 Season.
Twitters Takes Dig at Ben Simmons After Staying at Philadelphia 76ers
After great amount of controversy was stirred up, it is humorous for the neutral hoop fans to see Simmons making his way into the 76ers after all the drama. With no team willing to pay the appropriate price for the Australian maker. At the end of the day, Ben Simmons is only an employee who needs to perform when called upon by his team.
“[Starting the season with Simmons on the roster] might incentivize the Sixers to push this thing all the way until the trade deadline (which, sources tell me and Shams Charania, will be on Feb. 10). Or, as Morey himself alluded to in his media day news conference, he might start believing this could be an Aaron Rodgers type situation again.”
According to NBA insider earlier Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Philadelphia 76ers could now take a wait-and-see approach. That is, they could wait all the way until this season’s trade deadline before they decide to pull the trigger on a Ben Simmons trade deal.
