“I oughta slap your goofy a**” Former NBA player TAUNTS Shaquille O’Neal over his remarks over Kyrie Irving’s antisemitic blunder
Shaquille O'Neal, Kyrie Irving, Royce White
Shaquille O’Neal is heavily criticized by former NBA player Royce White for his remarks against Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving‘s stance on antisemitism. Irving is currently dealing with the fallout from sharing a link to a film that many have called antisemitic while many have criticized him, including Shaq, others have defended him, notably White.
Kyrie Irving recently had to decide whether to take accountability for his inappropriate behavior or to continue to develop into what others see to be an everlasting mess. On social media the week before, Irving promoted a movie with strong anti-Semitic elements. Since that point, Irving has refused to offer apologies or express regret for the film’s concept until it was already too late. Last week, Shaquille O’Neal brutally criticized Kyrie over this on “Inside The NBA”, which prompted Royce White to openly display his opinions.
In a straightforward tweet that was posted last week, Royce White voiced his opinion on Shaq and his comments that pointed out Irving as an “idiot.” The tweet read: “Oh… Say it ain’t so @SHAQ… You 7ft sellout MF. Tell me you didn’t go on national television and coon that hard about Kyrie with this movie and you own a theatre that showed the same film? I oughta slap your goofy a**. You ankle grabbing negroes make me sick.” White also posted a tweet right after this where he went off on the NBA and its personnel who laid out the six conditions for Kyrie’s return.
Shaquille O’Neal and his previous comments on Kyrie Irving
The commentators on TNT’s Inside the NBA last Tuesday addressed how the NBA community reacted when Irving tweeted a link to a 2018 antisemitic documentary in a post that has since been deleted. Shaquille O’Neal stood out among them as being the most upset, and he said: “I can tell that he is not conscious and that he doesn’t care what’s going on. It hurts me sometimes when we have to sit up here to talk about stuff that divides the game. That we gotta answer for what this idiot has done.”
O’Neal’s co-host Charles Barkley also blasted Irving for using an anti-Semitic tone later in the episode, saying: “I think the NBA dropped the ball. I think he should have been suspended. I think Adam should have suspended him.” Well, the suspension happened, and Kyrie’s future in the NBA is in ruins as there’s no update on when he’ll return or even if he is going to play another game in the NBA.
What’s next for Kyrie Irving?
Even though this happened after some highly tense encounters with the media, Kyrie Irving originally publicly apologized for his conduct. Irving was forced to make amends after receiving harsh criticism that led to his team suspending him and Nike cutting off their relationship with him. The team created a list of six requirements for the star to fulfill in order to make it easier for him to rejoin the Brooklyn Nets. A recent meeting between Kyrie and Joe Tsai recently hasn’t produced any information about his impending return because Tsai has taken a hard stance on the subject.
Given everything that has happened, Kyrie Irving is presently focusing on joining the league again. The Brooklyn Nets are finding a way to compensate for Irving’s absence despite neither the players nor the coaching staff knowing when he plans to return.
