Dak Prescott Wears His “Ask 4 Help” Wrist Tape To Promote Mental Health Awareness

Dak Prescott has always managed to brave any challenge that has come his way, may it be a resolute New England rearguard on Sunday or his own mental demons, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback has always led the way in the most exemplary fashion. Also, add a nasty calf injury at the end of this list and he will still emerge as strong as ever. There is no stopping to the man leading the Cowboys.

However, the man is combatting far more than the spartan defences on the field. On Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, he displayed his “Ask 4 help” wrist tape. This was clearly an effort from his end to support all those who have been fighting demons of their own. In better terms, he has donned the wrist band to support mental health awareness and also in honour of his late brother. Prescott has been spurring others to speak up about their mental woes and seek help.

The messaging that has happened through the platform has taken the shape of the nexus for Prescott’s avenues to prioritize mental health for all. In the preceding month, he launched his “Ask 4 help” campaign in the wake of suicide prevention. The campaign involves a sequence of t-shirts and hoodies for sale with the message of “Ask for help” and “Faith. Fight. Finish” etched on them.

The entire proceeds will be going to Prescott’s Fight Faith Finish Foundation and will be used in championing the cause of supporting mental health and stopping the ever-burgeoning menace of youth suicide. In a recent development, Prescott joined forces with the Las Vegas Raiders player, Solomon Thomas, the Defensive Line Foundation and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to guide teachers in connecting with their students in morasses with the resources they have.

In a sad state of affairs, suicide is the second-leading cause of death between the ages of 10 and 34 and also the fourth leading cause of demise between ages 35 and 44. These numbers are glaring enough to flag the fact that mental health needs to be prioritized to thwart such tragic happenings.  On the field, Prescott’s team, Dallas Cowboys secured an impressive victory against the New England Patriots on Sunday as the scoreline read 35-29 in their favour.
