On the days leading toward the start of the NFL free agency, all signs point toward the Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The QB is speculated to leave his team to go play for the New York Jets or retire before the start of the 2023 regular season.

Aaron Rodgers signed a 3-year contract with the Packers last off-season but after the abysmal 2022 season, the 10-time Pro Bowler is rethinking his future in the league for quite some time now. Following the heartbreaking loss against the Detroit Lions in week 18, which eliminated the Packers from postseason contention, Rodgers immediately hinted at retirement during the post-game press conference.

And then, after some thinking and a 4 days darkness retreat program, reports suggested that Aaron Rodgers has narrowed his choice between retiring or requesting a trade from the Packers. Besides, the Packers are also allegedly ready to move on from the 4-time league MVP in favor of their former first-round draft pick Jordan Love.

Moreover, recently rumors spread around the league that the Packers and the Jets have made a deal to trade the 39-year-old QB and that both teams are just waiting for Rodgers to make a decision. Amidst this situation, the 4-time All-Pro QB Rodgers has given an update on his decision during his appearance at a flag football tournament on Sunday.

Rodgers attended a flag football tournament recently where did a brief interview with the former Jets WR Brandon Marshall. During the interview, Marshall asked the former Super Bowl MVP how long it’ll take before he makes a decision. “Well, I think it won’t be long. There’s a time limit for all this,” Rodgers told the former Chicago Bears receiver.

Marshall then asked about Rodgers’ meeting with the Jets owner Woody Johnson on Tuesday. “It’s always interesting meeting important figures in the sport. Yeah, it’s always interesting,” Rodgers answered while Marshall patiently waited to get more information from him.

After a brief but humorous stare down and smirks the Packers QB Rodgers told Marshall that he’s not giving him any more details. “That’s all I’m giving you,” Rodgers said. “Stay tuned.”

In the end, the one-time Super Bowl Champion Aaron Rodgers managed to finish the brief interview without giving a lot of information about his future. And as of now, the league still patiently awaits the decision of the Packers quarterback. But it seems like Rodgers will respect the time limit of the Packers’ GM and make a decision before the start of the free agency.
