Hunter Hupp and his parents were out on a helicopter ride to explore the beauty of Tampa Bay. However, things took a sudden turn when there was a problem with the helicopter’s rotor and the aircraft quickly crashed into the water. While the family of three was floating in the water, they saw 3 men on 2 Jet Ski arrive to offer some assistance.

Gabbert and his brothers were out leisurely on a Jet Ski ride in the open ocean and quickly decided to respond when they saw the family in trouble. The Gabbert brothers took shifts to transfer the casualties to the island. Until then, the police had arrived and taken over the responsibility.

“I was just trying to do the right thing – help them out,” Gabbert said. “Clearly they were in need, and I’m happy they all made it out alive. I honestly wanted to stay anonymous. I just thought I was doing the right thing at the right time. I’m not much of a guy to be in the limelight; I kind of just wanted to stay under the radar.”
