“Candidates don’t want to take the job,” Cardinals are STRUGGLING to find a new head coach because most people allegedly don’t want to deal with the “hip” of Kyler Murray

The Arizona Cardinals’ QB Kyler Murray is one of the best young and coming quarterbacks in the league. He was a multi-sport athlete coming out of high school and ended up playing football as the quarterback of the Oklahoma Sooners. His stellar career in college fetched him the coveted Heisman Trophy in the year 2018. Furthermore, he was drafted as the No.1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the Cardinals just a year after he got drafted as the 9th overall in the 2018 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics.

He became the first athlete to be selected in the first round of two major leagues in US Sports history. Eventually, he ended up playing football for the Cardinals and so far has had a promising start to his young career. The 25-year-old QB has already been to two Pro Bowls and won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2019. However, these past few months haven’t been kind to the 4th year quarterback.

After starting the season 11-0 in the 2021 season, the Cardinals led by Kyler Murray lost seven games in a row, including their first-round playoff game. Following that terrible choke job, in the 2022 season, they folded completely and just won 4 games in the entire season, which led them to finish in the last place in the NFC West division.

Furthermore, their head coach Kliff Kingsbury got fired for back-to-back terrible seasons and their new head coach hunt is going way too slow, and some people believe it’s because no coach wants to deal with the hip of Kyler Murray.

Desired candidates don’t want to deal with the hip of Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray has a reputation for being tough to work with around the league and he was also caught on sideline cameras having a heated exchange with his then-head coach Kliff Kingsbury during a Thursday Night Football game.

And now, the Cardinals head coach search has been slowed down due to people not wanting to work with Kyler, who recently signed a 4-year contract extension with his team that drafted him. According to NFL analyst Tony Pauline, the desired candidates are hesitating to take the job.

The reason that the #Cardinals head coaching search is taking a long time to fill is related to QB Kyler Murray’s contract, per @PFN365

“Why is the Arizona Cardinals head coach job taking so long to fill? If you are to believe what people in Mobile are saying, it’s due to Kyler Murray — and it’s not because the quarterback has a large say in the matter,” said Pauline.”Rather, many of the desired candidates don’t want to take the job knowing they’ll be tied to the hip of Murray for the next four seasons.”

The Cardinals’ franchise quarterback Kyler Murray recently signed a five-year $230 million contract extension in late august 2022 and will be the franchise’s future for many years to come.
