Since the start of free agency on March 15, teams in need of their expertise and leadership at that position have scooped most star players up. All the veteran quarterbacks were signed to multi-year contracts upwards of $100 million for multiple years.

However, there still remains one elite player who is yet to be signed by any team – Odell Beckham Jr. The star wide receiver hasn’t been on the playing field ever since he tore his ACL in Super Bowl LVI. While the Cowboys were interested in having him on board in the last season, nothing materialized and Beckham remained without a team for the entire year.

It’s been almost a week since the start of the new league year and it has baffled fans and analysts as to why no team signed Odell Beckham Jr. already. The media came in with their own explanation and said OBJ was asking teams for a compensation of around $20 million per year. This turned out to be false, like most of the media’s reports, as OBJ himself tweeted denying the statement and added that just 4 ain’t enough.

The Dallas Cowboys were the front-runner for signing OBJ, but after they acquired wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the Texans, that ship seems to have sailed. The Bills, Chiefs, and Ravens are now the top landing spots for Beckham as per Bleacher Report, but ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky has added a new name into the mix along with a few strong points that make the move seem legit.

Orlovsky believes that Pittsburgh Steelers would benefit a great deal from having Odell Beckham Jr. on the roster. The former quarterback said having OBJ might help the Steelers stand out from the crowd in the AFC and give them a weapon to face the mighty Kansas City Chiefs for two reasons. “One, organizational structure, and the head coach knows what he is doing. Two with Kenny Pickett right now, you’re trying to build around that because he is cheap and you are trying to get him to play as well as possible.”

“Just imagine this offense if you’re a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Najee Harris at tailback who is still an awesome player, George Pickens who is a burgeoning star at that position, Diontae Johnson, and Pat Freiermuth at tight end and you add Odell. Now, we’re talking about an offense that’s got weapons, actual firepower to go chase down a Cincinnati Bengals, a Kansas City Chiefs football team.”

Dan Orlovsky has bolstered his claim of the Steelers acquiring Odell Beckham Jr. with a couple of great points. Pittsburgh currently has around $13.9 million in cap space as per overthecap.com which might be enough to compensate OBJ with or maybe not. There are a lot of other teams in need of a great wideout like Beckham, so it won’t be an easy task to sign him to the roster.
