The dream run of the Dallas Cowboys team suffered a major setback as Trevon Diggs, one of the major defensive weapons of the team, tore his Achilles in the practice season. The player may meet with the fate of Aaron Rodgers and can become unsure for the rest of the season. The team said that an MRI confirmed the ACL tear, and there is no timetable for his return.

This is a huge blow to the Cowboys side as they provided two defensive masterclasses in the last two games and were dreaming of becoming the Super Bowl winner this season. This injury could pull their dream back. The team was relying on its defense more than the offensive gameplay. It only gave up 10 points in the last two games. Apart from Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs also had a good impact. Losing him can cost big for the Dallas-based team.

However, not everyone seems to have the same opinion. Analyst Emmanuel Acho believes that if any team can handle the situation, it is the Dallas Cowboys. In his speech on SPEAK, the player spoke explicitly about the squad depth that the Cowboys are having this season. He also said that given the number of players they have, it won’t be a big issue for them to handle the loss.

It is never good to lose an All-Pro. But we can ask for some sort of sobriety into it. If any team is suited to handle to handle it, it is the Dallas Cowboys, Acho declared.

DaRon Bland had five interceptions last year and is likely to move outside. Jourdan Lewis would likely move in the nickelback position. Donovan Wilson has not played yet, he is coming back and Jayron Kearse possibly quicker, they would be present together. Then you have Micah Parsons at the front,” the analyst added.

How have the Dallas Cowboys performed so far?

Amid the limping and fumbling by the NFL big shots, the Dallas Cowboys started their campaign in style. In the first game, they thrashed the New York Giants by a result of 40-0. In the second game, they won by a margin of 30-10. In both of these games, their defense shined better than their offense. Defensively, they were looking unprecedented.

The defense has as many sacks in two games (10) as they have allowed points (10). Dan Quinn‘s setup is currently the best so far this season.

The test for their defense without Diggs would happen against the Arizona Cardinals who lost their back-to-back games. It will be seen whether the team is ready to face major offensive challenges against the opponents without Diggs.
