As soon as the reports about the deal started making rounds on social media, innumerable reactions started pouring in. In fact, listing the possible reasons behind FOX going after Brady and overlooking Troy Aikman, John Ourand had a few things to say On the “Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast.”

Ourand claimed that Troy ended up irritating FOX by being way too vocal. “When Troy Aikman wanted to get out of his contract, and started talking with Amazon, and started talking with ESPN, and made it public — he would answer any question that was sent his way — it irritated the folks at Fox,” he said.

As soon as he started to make those entreaties, it wasn’t just that Tom Brady was on a list. They started talking to him. Tom Brady was deciding between going back and playing football or going to Fox. And he ended up going to play football,” Ourand further claimed, adding that even he was expecting FOX to probably announce the deal with Brady next offseason but they caught everyone off guard.

As far as Troy is concerned, he was actually very vocal in the media about what was going through. However, in the end, he did not join Amazon and was not considered by the folks at FOX as they were seemingly frustrated with him.
